Supermodels were they belong, on the cover of magazines!!! So refreshing to see fab brown girls Jourdan Dunn and Chanel Iman on this months issue of Teen Vogue. In the article they discuss the fashion industry and each other. A definite must read! Here are two of my favorite pics from the fab spread:
I can't help but love Ms. Angela Simmons. She's fierce, fashion-forward, and fearless. And that Chanel Coco Cocoon that debuted at the beginning of this month is F-A-B Fab!! Oh and I'm all about a red lip! Definitely brown girl approved. Loves it!
These are the two fliest magazine covers I've seen in a minute. Brown girls are def doing it up this season. The first is Rihanna's cover for the supplemental Haute Couture issue for the upcoming VOGUE Italia. So fierce. The second is the cover of the September issue of i-D magazine with the brown girls currently dominating fashion: Chanel Iman, Sesilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn, and Arlenis Sosa. So fab.
John Galliano has shared with us his genius and showmanship in is Fall 2009 Couture Collection for Christian Dior. In this somewhat depressing economic time, Galliano makes it clear that fashion can be extravagant and reminiscent of times before. He focuses on the staples that have made Dior legendary such as the bar jacket. His play with ultra structured pieces, uber feminine couture undergarments, and dramatic hats are flawless on the runway. I'm in love. The look comes together with heavy makeup reminiscent the 80's. A full face is so in! Who says a bold lip and a heavy eye aren't allowed?!? Gotta love John Galliano and Christian Dior Fall Couture. Here are some of my favorite stills from the show:
It's like Christmas for fashion lovers everywhere!!! FALL ISSUES have hit news stands everywhere and I can't wait to see what fashion's biggest season will provide this year. Happy reading!
Stay Fierce. Stay Fab.

After much anticipation for any fashion lover...the Rachel Zoe Project is finally back on Bravo!!! I am in love. Her show gives an inside glimpse into the the life of a celebrity stylist. The first episode dropped us directly into award season with the Golden Globes along with all the usual suspects: Rachel herself, her husband Roger, and assistants Brad and Taylor. I do not know how I'm going to study this semester with this on the air. And did I mention Rachel and Rodger are George Washington University Alums (Awww G-Dub!) so there is hope for the aspiring fashionistas like myself at schools like GW!!! Here's the trailer from season two, and make sure you catch The Rachel Zoe Project Monday nights at 10P/EST.
Check the new Dolce Vita, 4.5 inch, fierce, zip-up, black with gold accent boots. All the ladies are side-eyeing when I step out in these. Trust and believe they will be apart of the YouTube Fashion Haul I'm doing soon. I also think I'm gonna do an actual review on Dolce Vita. They have some hot shoes and they also have hot pieces on their website. That's all for now.
Stay Fierce. Stay Fab.

After the overwhelming successful Black Issue of Vogue Italia where the magazine only used black models...they are back with another all black layout. This time Black Barbie takes center stage.
Editor-In-Chief Franca Sozzani said: “Barbie has been an icon for whole generations which is why I really wanted to give a strong sign in step with the times, and dedicate the anniversary issue to Black Barbie.”

Even though the network has changed all the heavyweights will be on board including Tim Gunn, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors. I know every fashion lover out there is overflowing with excitement. I personally can't wait for the premiere, but what channel is Lifetime?!? Here's the Lifetime promo for the new season:
I love Forever 21! They are the perfect store to update your look without breaking the bank. The trick with stores of this nature is this nature is to stick to the dark and neutral colors (blacks, whites, browns, grays) because these the color of these items give a more expensive look to lower-end fabrics and construction. They have also started, Love 21, the contemporary line that has classic silhouettes and a beautiful, muted color palette. Here are some of my favorite looks:
These MICHAEL for Michael Kors Gladiators are the Business!!!!! A Nordstrom Exclusive these double platform 5 1/4" sandals are so hot and so fab for any summer look! Can't wait to grab mine!
So, I can't decide if I love or hate The Fashion Show, Bravo's new fashion design competition. Issac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland host this knockoff Project Runway. The designers are lackluster to say the least and the designs are uninspired and unoriginal just like the concept of the show in its entirety. Half of the designers can't sew. What is that about?!?!? Issac ok he has fashion criidentials but Kelly Rowland, her fashion expertise came from??? On the upside it's always nice to have fashion glory or the pursit thereof on television. So I'm still on the fence, but tune in Thursday's at 10pm on Bravo and you be the judge.
This summer the trend report is in, and the verdict is Polynesian prints are IN. From floral bathing suits and straw hats to bamboo heals and chiffon tops. Here's how you can splurge and save on this hot new trend!
Fashion is evolving. Designers are no longer restricted to the strict fall and spring highly-anticipated arrivals, and as a result more and more pre-season collections are popping up throughout the industry. Here are my top five pieces from what look to be the most promising collections for the Pre-Fall 2009 collections. Fashion First...Muah!
5. Dolce & Gabbana
Stefano and Domenico haven't strayed far from their well-tailored, carefully detailed staple designs. Contrasting a beautiful, feminine silhouette in skirts and dresses with more masculine fabrics like grey tweeds and flannel have birthed a ingenious collection.
4. Vera Wang
Vera Wang presented looks with clever embellishments and a boyish charm. Sticking to a darker palette and only opting to use color in a few select pieces made dresses like the one above statement items. She paired free-flowing tunics and dresses with structured jackets. This dichotomy makes for an interesting, yet wearable collection.
3. Calvin Kline
Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein proved that nothing could be more chic than subdued tones and not-so-subtle manipulation of fabrics and textures. Pleating and the clever use of lines and the structural, architectural undertones add to the futuristic nature of the collection, and the future looks bright.
2. Oscar de la Renta
If Oscar de la Renta'sPre-Fall collection is anything it's wearable. This collection is full of textured separates, meticulously crafted skirts (which I adore), and a few feathered, flirty frocks for the occasional party. His play on texture like in the bodice and skirt of the piece above along with the textured knits were the highlight of collection. If his goal was to make me forget about any economic crisis with clothes that are indulgent and extravagant: mission accomplished.
...and drumroll please...
1. J. Mendel
Gilles Mendel for J. Mendel with his pre-fall collection dominates eveningwear. He captured simplicity and sheer elegance which makes the ultimate statement: less is really so much more. His use of the draping and the transformation of such from day to evening is exciting, and the Mendel's larger proportions for "real women with real bodies" makes me love this collection even more.
I was just internet shopping when I ran across these on Nordstrom.com. They are the BCBGirls "Famous" sandal and they are fierce. 4 1/2 inches of snake skin and gold accent freshness, and for $110 these are most def fashion fab right now.
Keo. It's a Brand Name. I'm living a dream. I never want to wake up. Life is a beautiful struggle, and I love it. By eliminating the madness I have found sanity. Change is scary but necessary, so I'm evolving. Slowly but surly, I'm evolving. I'm Fierce. Fashion and changing the world are my passions, and I will conquer them both, together, somehow. keo is the name of my haute couture line that I will have someday. Life is the ultimate teacher and I have learned the only way to be happy is to forgive. Forgive others. Forgive yourself. I have been accused of being brutally honest, but its only because I care. Being over-the-top and outrageous are just apart of who I am. Kimora Lee Simmons is my idol. She, Ming, and Aoki are amazing. Jay-Z is a genius. If I could only listen to him for the rest of my life, I would be honored. Give me a chance, I promise I'll surprise you. I'm much more than meets eye. I might be a lot of things, but I'm mostly me. I plan on chasing my dreams where ever they may lead but I will never forget where I came from. True to one's self: realer words have never been spoken. I'm a legend (in the making), and I just hope the world is ready...
